What is a Peer Missionary?Peer Missionaries are teens who are committed to sharing the gospel with other teens in the parish and beyond.
Peer Missionaries commit to helping with our OCIT program (sacramental preparation) each week as small group assistants. They walk with the teens in their group and share the gospel with them through friendship, example, and testimony.
In this program, teens are formed in leadership and evangelization, and prepared to go out and share the light of Christ with the world.

RequirementsTo serve as a Peer Missionary, you must meet the below requirements:
- Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior in high school
- Must have received all sacraments of initiation (baptism, confirmation, Eucharist)
- Must attend Mass every Sunday and Holy Day and receive reconciliation at least once a year
- Must be a good role model and set a good example

CommitmentPeer Missionaries must be committed to showing up for OCIT every week (barring illness, family emergencies, important school functions) on their scheduled day, from 6:15-8:15pm. We will also have a few team meetings/trainings throughout the year.
For 2025-2026 we have the below openings:
- 1 on Tuesdays (Senior only)
- 5+ on Thursdays

Expectations/Code of Conduct
- I will do my best to show up every week and be on time. If I am not able to make it, I will let Katelyn or Dan know.
- I will behave respectfully and will set a good example for my peers
- I will have a positive, joyful, and humble attitude, and avoid gossiping, judging, and complaining
- I will be welcoming and make by best effort to befriend the teens in RCIT
- I will not ignore the participants to talk to the other peer leaders
- I will follow the no cell-phone policy during program time
- I will be helpful and do the tasks assigned to me by adult leaders
- I will work on growing in my own relationship with God
- I understand that if I am not following these expectations, I will be given a warning. After two warnings, I will be asked to step down.
