Communications is more than just printing our Bulletin each week and making Mass announcements but rather Communications in the parish has a mission of evangelization. At Immaculate Heart of Mary we want to use our our communications in order to communicate not only events and ministries at IHM, but rather the story that IHM and the people of our community (both parishioners and those that live within our boundaries).
The hope is that through our communications we can better live out our mission and can tell the story that is Immaculate Heart of Mary from both the past and what is taking place as we move forward now in an Apostolic era striving to proclaim the greatness of the Lord and lead our neighbors to the heart of Christ. In order to help our ministries and apostolates communicate the story that is IHM we have created a booklet that talks about all of our Communications Mediums- our Communications Toolkit- as well as the style guide to go along with our logo and branding. If you are leading a ministry or one of our parish Apostolates please take a look through the booklet so that you know how to best communicate to our community.
If you have questions please reach out to our Communications Director Tyler Eberle who would be more than happy to talk with you and help you with your communications needs here at IHM.
This is the first thing many of us think about when we think about parish communications. And although we have many new ways of communicating it is still an important medium of communication.
Members of the parish may submit items to the bulletin. All items are subject to review and approval by the communications team, and will be placed after review pending available space.
The deadline for submission to the bulletin is 2 weeks prior to the publication date. You can submit something for the bulletin on our Communications Submission Form linked in the button below.
Flocknote has become an integral part of our parish communication recently. Flocknote also has two ways of assisting us in our communication: to the parish at large and to specific ministries. We send a weekly Flocknote email to all parishioners that have signed up, it can also be used to informed people via text message of important events or cancelations that are taking place at the parish.
At IHM we have a parish Facebook and Instagram page in which we have begun to utilize more and communicate not only with our own community but with community at large. On it we share not just about our parish but about our faith and seek to engage our community more than just calling them to action to join the next ministry or event. In fact our call’s to action are a minority of the content we post. But it may be that it is in the best interest of our parish to create some sort of call to action post for your ministry or group. In order to have something posted to our parish social media accounts you can submit a request via our communications submission form.
This website you are on here may be one of the most important parts of how we communicate as a parish. Because it is here within these pages that we can contain the most information about the events and ministries of our parish. In all the other communications we give people a snap shot or summary of the chapter in the story that is IHM. But here on the website you can start to see the entire story come together, from our history, to all that is coming up, to the thoughts that have come about through prayer of our Pastor each week.
